It is a holiday weekend, and the pipes in your bathroom burst. Normally, one would call a plumber to handle the situation. However, individuals with disabilities relying on mobility equipment do not have the same access to essential services. This is why I support Florida’s wheelchair repair bill, which aims to improve accountability in the wheelchair repair industry. Getting a wheelchair repaired should be straightforward, yet after more than 80 days and three service visits, my leg rests are still not fixed. If a simple repair takes this long, imagine how much more time a complex issue would take.
